Therefore, it is worth thinking in advance about caring for the garden and who exactly will be engaged in servicing your site.

  You should entrust these obligatory garden care and maintenance work to an experienced gardener so that you do not regret losing such a beloved and beautiful appearance of the site later. After all, it is possible to restore a garden, but it is difficult, therefore it is necessary to devote time to the timely care of the garden and its maintenance, thereby saving both money and your garden. And most importantly, to care for the garden was constant! It happens that they want to put the site in order at once, it is very difficult, a large amount of work to care for the garden is carried out at a time and they do not have time to do a lot, and then again they do not pay due attention to the garden. Comprehensive garden care or site maintenance consists of:

• Flowerbed care - fertilization, removal of inflorescences, cutting, weeding, mulching;
• Care of trees and shrubs - form cutting fruit trees in February-March, cutting sanitary or rejuvenating branches and faded inflorescences, cutting the shrubs and hedges, fertilizing, spraying with insecticides and fungicides, wrapping trees and bushes for the winter or winding from snow damage;
• Maintenance of vertical gardening - cutting, fertilization, spraying with chemicals.

Form cutting helps with this missions: 

• Formation of a stable crown (laying the main skeleton of the branching system), since the crown gives a large load on the plant stem as it grows and develops.
• Reducing the volume of a continuously growing crown by appropriate cutting or removal of part of the branches.
• Regulation of flowering (strengthening, stretching, earlier onset).
• Increasing the efficiency of the use of light by trees or bushes (formation of an openwork crown) or thickening (compact),
• Simplify disease and pest control.
• Cutting aimed at ensuring the normal functioning of the root-leaf metabolism (improving the water regime, carbohydrate and nitrogen metabolism - by activating the synthesis of organic substances).

Fertilization

The lack of top dressing in the ground is reflected in the growth and fruiting of trees and bushes, because this is an important job in caring for the garden and maintaining the site. The best return on all dressings can only be obtained if they are used correctly and with the timely completion of all garden care and maintenance work. Mineral fertilizers are needed by trees and bushes during the growing season and in the fall, before the dormant period, it is they that contain the main useful elements, without which the vital activity of plants is impossible. The most important is the NPK complex - nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, therefore it is worth adding them together when caring for the garden, but only during spring gardening, in autumn - without nitrogen.

     Nitrogen helps rapid growth, provides lush leaf formation on the plant, nitrogen-rich leaves stand out due to their dark green color. With a lack of it, the growth of all parts of plants is inhibited, the leaves are light green, sometimes turn yellow and wither earlier. Phosphorus increases development, ensures the ripening of shoots, and also affects abundant flowering. A sign of a lack of phosphorus is: the leaves are dark green with a purple tint, narrow. Potassium increases the transpiration of sugars from the leaf blade to other organs, affects the abundance of flowering and color. With a lack of potassium, the plant becomes more easily infected with fungal diseases. Signs of deficiency: leaves turn yellow early, from the edges, then turn brown and die.

     It is best to use granular mineral fertilizers in garden care and maintenance, either in combination or separately, since powdered or dissolved fertilizers are quickly washed out and become unavailable to plants. While granular fertilizers are softened with water gradually and retain their beneficial properties longer. In the spring, when caring for the garden, nitrogen fertilizers are used, with a large amount of N, it promotes the development and growth of plants, and in the fall - phosphorus P, it makes it easier to endure a cold snap. In garden care, nitrogen fertilizer can be applied under all ornamental plants and the lawn once a month until September, so you stimulate the growth of green mass and flowering, which gives a beautiful green color of the lawn and lush foliage near the bushes, but it is better to apply less frequently. In October, when caring for the garden, we apply fertilizer without nitrogen, but with a large amount of phosphorus and potassium, which will help plants to “sleep” safely during winter hibernation. 

   Mulching

   Mulch is a layer of loose material sprinkled around the trunk of trees and bushes and is very necessary during garden maintenance. Moist peat, compost, tree bark, thyrsus, grass clippings, leaves can be used as mulch, only being sure that they are disease-free.

The benefits of mulching are enormous, so do not neglect this garden care work:

• In summer drought, the soil retains moisture.
• The number of weeds is drastically reduced.
• The quality of the soil improves, as a result of decay, the mulch serves as an additional source of nutrition.
• In winter, the soil freezes less.

Wrap for the winter

Newly planted plants and some non-hardy species need shelter for the winter and are an important job in late fall gardening and maintenance. Before severe frosts, it is worth warming the plants, either by making a hut for them, using sticks and agrotextiles or burlap, or simply wrapping skeletal branches around them. Conical, pyramidal and spherical shapes should be pulled with twine to avoid breakage of branches under the weight of snow. But remember that we insulate the plants only when there is constant frost outside the window! Early warming, when temperatures from +2 to +8 contribute to the rotting of plants, at the same time, you should not forget that the main thing is to warm the root, so you can cover the root with agrotextile and cover it with foliage, and when it snows, rake it under the plant.
